Since 2017, the Tchin-Tchin challenge allows the celebration of water during the third week of March on the occasion of Canada Water Week and World Water Day.
The Tchin-tchin Challenge is an awareness raising activity that encourages kindergarten and elementary school students to drink water during school lunches. It aims to promote water as the best drink for hydration and caring for one’s health, while having fun at the same time.

In march 2021, in 650 schools, more than 130 000 pupils took up the Tchin-Tchin Challenge.

After the Challenge week, primary schools can continue to be water-friendly environments by nominating Tchin-tchin Champions for instance. The handbook offers many other ideas of activities to keep the Challenge alive throughout the schoolyear!
